Move the plug-in file FinGarPlugIn.fxt into your Finale Plug-ins directory.
(My directory is C:\Program Files\Finale 2004a\Plug-ins.)

Start Finale.

Until you are comfortable with this plug-in, please work on copies of your files. So make a copy of a Finale file and open it in Finale.

Click Mass Edit Tool.

Select a region.

Click Plug-ins, click Fingar (see picture below)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Here is a current picture of Version: Toddler.
Slur Controller CC#64

Clear and Insert Midi data to implement GPO slurs.
This is primarily for strings and winds.
(Of course, you probably have no need to do this for the Piano, pizzicato strings and short bow strings.)

Tips:
Highlight the start and the end of the slur.
Fingar works on Note Attached slurs and Measure Attached slurs.
Use Fingar to clear CC#64 data from a region to listen to playback without slur interpretation. It's easy to re-insert CC#64 data again with Fingar!

Shorten Note Durations
Use this feature to lengthen notes under slurs and shorten notes outside of slurs. There's nothing GPO specific here, except that it will help you get better sounding slurs from GPO.

Tips:
If you want Fingar to leave the duration of a note alone, put an articulation on it and check the checkbox! You can then include that note in a large selection, like perhaps an entire staff.
Use the MIDI Tool to view note durations.
1024 EDUs = 1 quarter note.

Let me know if you like it, what works for you and what doesn't, and if you have a GPO feature on your wish list, let me know. You may be interested to know that I also use
Overture and have found it quite GPO friendly.
